Terms of Service

Effective October 16, 2026

These terms cover your use of artifact.cafe: the website, the review pages, the API, the command-line tool and the agent skill (together, “the service”). By publishing, commenting or signing in, you agree to them. If you use the service for an organization, you agree on its behalf.

What the service is

artifact.cafe hosts static artifacts (HTML, Markdown, images and other files) so people can review them. Authors and their agents publish; anyone with the link can read and comment without an account. Each publish creates a new, immutable version. The service is free today. If we ever charge for something, we'll tell you before it applies to you.

It is not a production host. We don't run server code for artifacts, and we may limit or remove artifacts that are used as an app backend, a file locker or a content delivery network.

Accounts and tokens

You can publish without an account. An anonymous publish returns a claim link and a publish token; unclaimed artifacts expire 24 hours after their last publish. Signing in lets you claim artifacts, join workspaces and keep work permanently. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age to use online services where you live, whichever is older.

Treat publish tokens, claim links and API keys like passwords. Anyone holding one can act on the artifacts it controls. You are responsible for what happens under your account and your tokens, including what your agents do with them.

Your content

You keep every right you have in what you publish, the comments you write, and the data your artifacts collect. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, render and display that content only as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with. The license ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared or held in backups for a short time.

You confirm you have the rights to publish what you publish, and that your artifact's visitors are told what it collects if it collects anything from them. For data an artifact collects, you decide what is gathered and why; we store it on your behalf. You are solely responsible for that data and for following the privacy and data protection laws that apply to collecting it.

What you can't publish or do

  • Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Phishing, credential harvesting, malware, or pages that impersonate another person, brand or service.
  • Sexual content involving minors, content that promotes violence or harassment, or other people's private information without their consent.
  • Spam, or artifacts and comments built to manipulate search.
  • Probing, overloading or getting around the service's limits, access controls or sandboxing, except through a security report to us.
  • Selling or reselling the service as your own hosting product.

Review and removal

We don't pre-screen artifacts, but we may look at, restrict, unpublish or delete content, and suspend accounts or tokens, when we believe these terms are broken, someone is at risk, or the law requires it. Anyone can report an artifact. For a copyright or abuse notice, send the artifact link and what's wrong to hello@artifact.cafe.

Ending things

You can delete artifacts, comments you wrote, and your workspaces at any time. We may stop offering the service, or part of it. If we shut down something that holds your claimed work, we'll give reasonable notice so you can save it first, unless the law or a security problem stops us.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that content will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything that matters. Artifacts are made by their authors, not by us, and we aren't responsible for what they say or do.

artifact.cafe is not a backup service. Deleted and expired artifacts, comments and collected data can't be recovered, and we aren't responsible for any content or data that is lost, corrupted or removed.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to US$100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

If your content or your use of the service breaks these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you'll cover the reasonable costs of that claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top always shows the current version. For material changes we'll give notice on the site, or by email if you have an account, before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
